So, I don’t know if you are aware of the RSS feed that is available on this site, and other sites for that matter. it’s a great little tool to be able to keep track of any updates on the site without having to keep checking back.
To add my site to your RSS feeds, all you have to do is click on the “Entries RSS”, or “Comments RSS” and, if you have Firefox, or Safari, you would have a built in RSS reader, otherwise, you would need to download one before you add the feed.
A little confused? check out the YouTube video below, which will tell you a bit more, in simple terms about RSS Feeds:
Since I am the techy guy amongst my family my friends, I constantly get calls and requests for help with purchasing technology, among other things. as I was browing around, I found a site that helps with this very issue. It is called TechSelector.Â
I have tried it myself, on a printer that I would have recommended, and TechSelector actually came up, as part of a bigger list, with the printer that I would’ve chosen. That’s a good thing.
I have not done very extensive testing, though I noticed that they still don’t have any laptops or desktops on there, which was a bit of a bummer, since most of the requests I et are usually for laptops and desktop recommendations.
I have not given up on the site though, they do state that they are expanding their list, and they are still in Beta. So I will keep an eye on the site, and hopefully will recommend it more as it matures.
Ok honestly, I’m not pondering anything with this one, though for some reason, I found the facts in it extremely intriguing, and if nothing else, it made me just think about where our world is heading, or at least try to imagine. This presentation address US Labor vs world labor, as well as education issues, and technologies, I guess I just wasn’t quite aware of some of these numbers, they left me gasping in surprise in some instances, I hope it would be some food for thought for you too..
I saw an article about this Handshake product. I thought it was an interesting concept…
Though, I thought about the idea of having such a product: It really takes quite a while for people to adopt it. There are quite a lot of reasons really:
People are sceptical about stolen identity as it is, much less, having someone have your information at the first handshake (granted, only basic information is given out through the ring)
Having a technology such as this, requires its adoption by quite a large number of people to be worth it. Some products can be adopted even among a circle of friends, like the Paypal mobile system, but this one, at its essence, is geared towards people who don't know each other, so the user-base has now grown immensely larger.
The majority of people have issues with using basic technology (yeah, even in our days, I see it everyday in my field of work), much less giving them a state of the art ring to exchange information. People are just starting to get used to putting information in PDAs and cell phones
I think I can rant on quite a while about this. Of course, being an early adopter of technologies, I find the idea extremely cool, just thought of playing devil's advocate on this one… .
