I read this article today, and I thought I’d put it up on the blog, in case someone is looking for the cause of their View client suddenly not finding the connection server in their VMware View environment.

Apparently, Microsoft released two patches for Windows 7 that broke the connectivity to the Connection Server.
The two Microsoft patches that could cause this issue are 2482017 and 2467023.

VMware has released some patches for the View client to fix this issue. These can be found HERE.

I have tested my View client on Windows 7 today, and it appeared to still be working. In my case, I am running the View Client in a VMware ThinApp though. So if you are in this environment, then the issue may not affect you, though you may be better off applying the patches anyway, just to be on the safe side.
