Wow, I just realized that it’s been about a month and some that I haven’t posted anything here. if anybody reads this at all, then I apologize. I actually did run across a few cool things during that time, but alas, I didn’t have time to do any posting.
Anyway, Hopefully now i’ll be able to keep up a little bit with the new stuff. here’s one new thing I found today, it’s called Visual Cron. If you’ve ever worked with the Windows Task Scheduler, you’ll know what I’m talking about. it’s really not THAT bad, but it does have a couple of unintuitive features (i.e the repetition of tasks seems to work very weird, and you have to know the way the scheduler works in order to correctly set it up. Don’t get me wrong, I think the The Task Scheduler has come a long way from way back in Win 98, but I still always thought that the Unix Cron system was better… (of course you also have to understand that) . Visual Cron seems to have brought both these worlds together. Now you can combine both Task Scheduler features with with Unix cron features, and have a full product that’s super easy to use, and is powerful.
Check it out if you have time.
